Highridge Company laying off 200 workers

More than 200 workers will lose their jobs in May in the second mass layoff in Schuylkill County this year.

Lineage Logistics, 110 Keystone Blvd., Highridge Business Park, Cass Township, will lay off 208 workers as of May 27, according to a WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) notice published by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.

Efforts to reach company officials were unsuccessful.

Earlier this month, the state published a WARN notice stating that Saks & Company LLC, 25 Keystone Blvd., Highridge Business Park, would close, pushing 435 people out of work by May 31.

Lineage, which provides cold food storage services, bought the Highridge facility last year from Tyson Foods. The company also operates a 386,000 square foot facility in Hazle Township, which opened in 2024, and an 800,000 square foot facility in Allentown, and another 360,000 square foot storage facility in Orefield, Lehigh County.

Earlier this month, Lineage, opened a new 84,000 square foot facility in Louisville, Kentucky.

According to its website, Lineage, based in Michigan, is the world’s largest cold storage warehouse company, with 500 facilities in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
