Fire companies from numerous Carbon County communities are on scene of a structure fire in Mahoning Township.

The fire was reported around 2 p.m. near 153 Mauch Chunk street, Route 209 in the village of Packerton. The blaze is the remnants of a large home that collapsed several years ago.

Area fire police maintained traffic control at the scene shutting down the roadway.

Mahoning Township police are investigating the incident.
