Senior Center
The Panther Valley Senior Center announced the menu from March 30 to April 3.
Monday: Baked Ham, Macaroni and Cheese, Mixed Vegetables, Pineapples or Ham and Cheese Sandwich.
Tuesday: Raspberry Chicken, Red Potatoes, corn, Fruit Salad or Chicken Caesar Salad.
Wednesday: Beef Patty with Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Peas and Carrots, Pudding or Greek Salad.
Thursday: Italian Chicken, Buttered Pasta, Vegetable Blend, Orange or Meatloaf Sandwich.
Friday: Center closed.
The center has also announced the following upcoming events:
Movie and Popcorn on March 27 at 10 a.m.
Game Day on March 30 at 10:30 a.m.; Bingo on March 31 at 10:45 a.m.; Chair Exercises on April 1 at 10:30 a.m. followed by Ax Throwing at 11 a.m.; Po-Keeno on April 2 at 10:45 a.m.; center closed on April 3.
Cards, Pool, Games, available daily from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. New members are welcome.

Nesquehoning
Historical Society
The Nesquehoning Historical Society has announced the start of a series of local history presentations as part of the town’s America250 Celebration.
The first presentation in this series will be “The History of Nesquehoning Village, Part I.”
There will be two showings of the presentation — 6 p.m. on March 30 and 1 p.m. on April 4. Doors open an hour before the presentation.
Historian Vince Hydro’s presentation will cover many facets of the town’s early history, including the meaning of the name “Nesquehoning”; the early settlers in the valley; the discovery of anthracite coal along Room Run; and a brief history of the town’s coal mining industry.
The events will take place at the society’s museum, 157 W. Railroad St.
The events are open to the public free of charge, although donations to the historical society are always welcome.
Nesquehoning Hose Company No. 1
The Nesquehoning Hose Company will hold an Easter flower box sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 28 and 29; 4-7 p.m. March 30 to April 2; and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 3 and 4. Boxes include two each of tulips, hyacinths, daffodils and lilies.
The hose company is located at 953 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning
Baseball competition
The Knights of Columbus of the Panther Valley will host a free Pitch, Hit and Run Competition at the Lansford Little League complex on April 11. The event is sponsored by Major League Baseball.
Registration starts at 10 a.m. Competition begins at 11. Age groups are open to both boys and girls age 7 through 14. Proof of age is required.
