A 62-year-old Lower Saucon Township man died in crash just before 11 a.m. Sunday. The crash involved seven vehicles in the 3300 block of Center Valley Parkway, Upper Saucon Township.

Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said Brian P. McKenna was pronounced dead at 11:40 a.m. at the scene.

Upper Saucon Township police said McKenna was driving a vehicle that crossed the center concrete median and hit multiple vehicles traveling east. Police said officers extricated McKenna from the car, but he did not survive.

Police said 10 people were traveling in the seven vehicles involved in the crash, three who were injured and transported by emergency services personnel to area hospitals.

The coroner said an autopsy was scheduled to be performed today at the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensic Center to assist in determining whether the death was the result of a natural medical event or injuries sustained in the crash.

Assisting Upper Saucon Township Police at the scene were personnel from the Lehigh County Crash Team and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, as well as emergency services personnel.
