Walnutport Borough Council took the following actions recently:

• Retained Stellar Construction to complete the debris removal/clean out 645 Lehigh Gap St. in the amount of $18,276.

• Agreed to purchase creak sealing (tar) for up to $2,800.

• Agreed to apply for 2026-27 Community Development Block Grant funding for Green Street.

• Agreed to advertise for the borough secretary/treasurer position.

• Approved the Walnutport Playground Authority/Northern Lehigh Athletics to apply for a grant through the Lehigh Valley IronPigs for maintenance on the ballfield.

• Approved use of facilities, Northern Lehigh softball/Walnutport Playground Authority, for Easter egg hunt/softball practice.

• Granted permission to the Lions Club for use of canal grounds for Canal Days; Boy Scout Troop spending the night camping; contained fire the weekend for festival for making of cobbler/cooking; a new banner to be hung over Main Street about one month before Canal Days; and fire police for traffic flow if necessary.

• Granted permission for the Wildlands Conservancy to camp June 19-20 for the Sojourn and have fire for cooking purposes.
