Palmerton students busy for spring
This past week of March 9-13, Palmerton High School showed their pride for St. Patrick’s Day by wearing green.
Palmerton Art Club helped the high school students start off spring with a Spring Fling Dance.
Palmerton athletes are excited to start their seasons. This week the first track is scheduled, along with the first Varsity official baseball, junior varsity and softball games.
Tennis is in full swing at Palmerton, competing in their first tennis match on March 13 against Pottsville. Tennis teams lineup includes Levi Johnson, Colton Ruzicka, Anderson Garcia, Kevin O’Neill, Chase Sebelin, Hadlee Lake, Andrea Bettini. Monday had a match against Pen Argyl, Tuesday against Bangor, and Wednesday against Southern Valley.
Clubs
Our clubs were also busy.
Protection Against Animal Cruelty Club is looking for donations of blankets, pet toys, cleaning supplies, cat litter, pet food, etc.
The second block class that receives the most donations will earn a prize. The PAAC club will be going on a field trip to deliver these essentials. Don’t forget, every small act can make a difference.
The Palmerton Leo Club is sponsoring an Easter food drive to benefit the Valor House. This food drive benefits our Veterans. They are looking for donations of foods to help veterans have a nice Thanksgiving meal including pie and cake making items, stuffing, canned goods and gravy.
The creative writing club had a meeting to talk about the Young Writers USA Competition. Two Palmerton students, Jayden DeCarlo and Abigail Kuhns, were selected to be in a future publication.
