The area of Andrewsville, approximately 65 acres, will be annexed to the Borough of Lansford, according to a final opinion filed today in the Carbon County Court under the signature of Judge Albert H. Heimbach.

The land will be detached from the Borough of Summit Hill and become part of Lansford’s East Ward.

The decree culminates legal proceedings of more than a year, having been stalled since last October when the jurist gave the petitioners an opportunity to amend their petition after the judge suggested the request include “only such area as will meet the needs of the residents and freeholders of Number 5 and Andrewsville.”

Attorney George M.D. Richards represented the petitioners. Approving the stipulation were Attorney Thomas S. McCready, representing Summit Hill, Attorney John J. Dobosh, representing Lansford, and Attorney John G. Cipko, representing the Greenwood Stripping Corporation.
