Former Tamaqua standout Alexis Buchala, now swimming for Penn State Altoona, competed in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships from Feb. 18-21.

The former Blue Raider participated in a number of events at the tourney.

Buchala placed 10th in the 400 individual medley with a time of 5:07.77, and was 11th in the 200 butterfly in 2:35.30. She also added a 14th in the 500 freestyle, touching in 5:41.14.

Combining with three of her teammates, PSU-Altoona earned a fifth place in the 800 free relay, posting a time of 8:29.58.
