The East Penn Township Board of Supervisors on Monday authorized several grant-related actions, moved forward with building renovations and announced upcoming community events.
Supervisors voted to authorize the township engineer to request an extension for a Local Share Account grant for improvements to the Ashfield playground bathroom.
East Penn was awarded $81,840 in 2023 to install new restroom facilities within the playground.
The board also amended its agenda to allow for a grant application for park signage and then approved moving forward with the application.
In other business, supervisors ratified a prior poll of the board taken Feb. 16 to authorize renovations to the social hall office and women’s bathroom at a cost not to exceed $5,000.
Supervisors also reported that a draft data center ordinance has been completed and distributed.
“It is awaiting the solicitor’s review,” township chairman John Strockoz said of the ordinance.
Supervisors also announced that the township’s 2026 dump day and electronic recycling event will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. April 22 at the township community center.
“If the truck is full before 5, then the event will cease at that time,” Strockoz said.
The township is also accepting letters of interest for two vacancies on the recreation board, one zoning hearing board position and one parks committee seat.
