Lake Harmony squad attends training

Lake Harmony Rescue Squad in Kidder Township has expanded its level of care as three members completed six months of training.

Chief Scott Wuttke, Robert Kramer and Robert Basile took the course, which enables them to provide immediate advanced level care such as IVs and airway management.

They can also act as a rapid response unit.

Wuttke told the Kidder Township supervisors, “We are now at the intermediate level, the next step of care between EMT and paramedics.”

Fleet SUV decals and lights for the rescue squad were approved at a total cost of $7,994.79. Sixty percent of the funds, $4,796.87, come from the emergency services fund, and 40%, $3,197.92, from the general fund.

The supervisors last week discussed the Albrightsville Volunteer Fire Company’s 2025 stipend/credit.

Supervisor Noel Torres noted that the township ordinance requires monthly reports from the fire company and they are not getting them; therefore, it is not sufficient enough to get a stipend.

The decision was made to authorize waiving the trash bill for fire company members and the township portion of the real estate tax.
