Police investigating attempted homicide incident on Route 248

State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating an attempted homicide case that involved gunfire.

It happened at 2:27 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Route 248 and Bank Street in Bowmanstown.

Police said listed three people as victims: a 55-year-old woman form Lansford, a 19-year-old man from Allentown and a 16-year-old girl from Bethlehem. No injuries were reported.

Police said they responded to a report of a disabled vehicle along Route 248, where it was determined the vehicle had sustained damages consistent with gunfire.

They said the driver and two passengers were inside the vehicle at the time.

Police said the suspect vehicle is described only as being a dark-colored sports utility vehicle.

Route 248 was closed for a time as police investigated.
