Two Carbon County residents are facing charges of sexual assault on a minor following an investigation conducted by the Criminal Investigation Unit of Troop N, Fern Ridge.

James Joseph Westgate, 38, of Deborah Christi Westgate, 40, both of Albrightsville, were charged Friday in the office of Magisterial District Judge Erik Schrantz of Jim Thorpe. Police said in addition to the sexual assault of a minor charges they are facing other related offenses.

Police said they were made aware of a sexual assault case that has been ongoing since 2020. Through their investigation, police said it was discovered the Westgates have been assaulting a minor over the past several years.
