Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Feb. 19 with 20 members present.

President Jean Machamer opened the meeting.

A member who is celebrating her birthday brought pizza to share with all members.

The group meets Thursdays at 1 p.m. at the Coaldale Complex, weather permitting.

St. Peter’s — West Penn

The 9 a.m. Sunday worship service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn will have the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Adult Sunday school is at 10:15 a.m.

The midweek Lenten service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Ben Salem Church.

On March 5, the Cherub Choir meets at 6 p.m. March 6 is the World Day of Prayer.

Zion Lewistown

Zion Men will meet at 8 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Hall.

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.

“The Chosen” will be shown at Memorial Hall at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Calvary Lewistown

The 9:45 a.m. Sunday service at Calvary Church in Lewistown will have a message that will bring hope for daily living shared by Pastor Debra Rogers. Communion will be included in the service. There will also be congregational and special music in the service as well as a dedication of soup that was collected for the Primitive Methodist food sharing program in Tamaqua.

Sunday school is at 11 a.m. The evening service will be held at 6:30 p.m.

The Lenten service will be held Wednesday at Friedans Lutheran Church, New Ringgold, beginning with a hymn sing at 7:15 p.m. and followed by the service at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome.
