Traffic backs up Wednesday morning as the lane restrictions continue on a stretch of Route 209 in Jim Thorpe Borough and Mahoning Township. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation project includes repairs to an existing retaining wall along the highway. The northbound passing lane will be closed until Oct. 1 and restrictions are expected to return next year. The overall project is expected to be completed in September 2027.
