State police from the Fern Ridge barracks were summoned to Pleasant Valley High School, Brodheadsville, on Wednesday after school officials were made aware of a threatening statement found on a note in the school.

State police’s criminal investigation unit is investigating the matter.

While police did not provide details of the incident, they said they want parents/guardians and neighboring community members to know these type of matters are taken extremely serious. They said although there is a large police presence, the school is safe and secure.
