The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch in effect from late tonight through Monday.

Heavy snow is predicted, with between 6 and 12 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes.

Snowfall rates could exceed 1 inch per hour, and blowing and drifting of snow possible.

Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 44. West wind around 5 mph.

Tonight: A slight chance of freezing rain between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m., then a chance of snow. Increasing clouds, with a low around 28. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Sunday: Snow, mainly after 7 a.m. High near 34. East wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Sunday Night: Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Patchy blowing snow after 3 a.m. Low around 25. North wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.

Monday: Snow likely, mainly before 1 p.m. Areas of blowing snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. Breezy, with a north wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Monday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 31.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 15.

Wednesday: A chance of snow before 1 p.m., then a chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
