Rush Township supervisors set hourly pay rates for a number of employees at Thursday’s monthly meeting.
Supervisors also made appointments to its road crew and several commissions.
Hourly wages for road crew members, which became effective Thursday include Elden Neifert, $31.42; Rob Sweeney, $27.30; Enn Poldnurk, $27.30; Walt Serfass, $27.30 and acting foreman, $28.50.
Ed Folweiler, Barry Messerschmidt and Dave Ceci were appointed as part-time road help at a rate of $25 per hour. They’ll be employed on an as-needed basis.
Hourly rates for part-time police officers include: Robert Bechtel, $31; Tara Strauss, $28; and Ron Kazakavage, Richard Sinton, Tom Forte, Phoenix Ritchie and Michael Beidelman, all $26.50.
The new starting rate for part-time police officers will be $25. Board Chairman George Gerhard said the township is always looking for part-time officers to supplement its force and hoped the rate would attract applicants.
Sewer employee William Cavanaugh will receive $27.30 per hour.
Supervisors noted that an executive session was held on Jan. 31 to discuss employee salaries.
During the meeting, supervisors also appointed Gerhard and resident Robert Ritsick as representatives to the Eastern Schuylkill Regional Planning Commission.
Barbara Morgans and Scott Major were appointed as auditors.
JoAnn Zimmerman was appointed assistant secretary/treasurer.
