V.F.W. Post 5588 of Kunkletown was instituted Sunday at the American Legion Home, Gilbert.

The new charter was launched with 42 member by State Junior Vice Commander Daniel P. Geiger Jr., assisted by District 20 Commander Jerry Kolb and district Senior Vice Commander Clarence R. Buck.

Commander of the new post is Ray A. Woods of Kunkletown, who will be joined by the following officers: William T. Jones of Saylorsburg, senior vice commander; Ralph P. Gouger of Gilbert, junior vice commander; L. Carl Liero of Effort, quartermaster; Barry Lutz of Kunkletown, judge advocate; Vincent Sansone Jr. of Saylorsburg, chaplain; and John F. Nicholson of Kunkletown, surgeon.
