Calvary Lewistown
The 11 a.m. Sunday worship service at Calvary Evangelical Church in Lewistown will have singing, praises, prayers and a Biblical message of our Heavenly Father’s care by Pastor Debra Rogers. Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening service.
There will be no Wednesday prayer meeting at the church, but the New Ringgold Ministerium Lenten service will be held Wednesday at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. It begins with a hymn sing at 7:15 p.m. and service at 7:30 p.m.
Zion Lewistown
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
The next episode of “The Chosen” will be shown at 2 p.m. Sunday in the social hall.
Tamaqua Seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Feb. 12 with 28 members present.
President Jean Machamer opened the meeting with the invocation, “It’s All Right to Say I Love You,” followed by the Lord’s Prayer, Pledge of Allegiance and singing of “Our Country ‘Tis of Thee.”
One member was added to the sick list.
A member won Valentine’s items that were chanced off, and another member brought small cupcakes for the group. Snacks and drinks were distributed.
The meeting closed and members wished all a safe and happy Valentine’s Day.
The group meets at 1 p.m. Thursdays at the Coaldale Complex, weather permitting.
Rush-Ryan-Delano Seniors
The Rush, Ryan and Delano Senior Citizens met on Feb. 10 with 27 members present.
President Robert Neifert opened the meeting with the invocation, “Reminisce,” read by a member.
Two members are celebrating birthdays this month. A moment of silence was held for two members.
The group chanced off a Valentine tree and a money card, which were won by a member.
The election of officers will be held in May, and brown bag lunches will be held February, March and April.
Bingo was played and refreshments were served. The group wished all a happy Valentine’s Day and offered prayers to members dealing with health issues.
