Debris that had spilled on a portion of roadway and led to hazardous road conditions on Route 248 Tuesday afternoon has been removed.
Sean Brown, PennDOT safety press officer, said PennDOT’s maintenance was contacted by emergency responders at 2:30 p.m. and asked to remove debris that had spilled on the eastbound side of the roadway.
Brown said that Carbon County maintenance cleaned their side of the road, and Northampton County maintenance cleaned their side of the road.
Brown said they are not aware of any disabled vehicles.
A report of a hazardous road condition was made on Route 248, southbound side between Palmerton and the Route 873 bridge, with heavy mud/stone debris on the roadway.
Motorists were urged to use the passing lane to avoid the debris on the roadway.
