Nonprofit holding Cash Bingo event
A nonprofit organization will host its first-ever Cash Bingo event.
Bingo to Support Raising the House will be held March 1 at the Aquashicola Volunteer Fire Company.
Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. Bingo begins at 1 p.m.
Tickets are available for purchase. It will consist of 20 regular games and five special games of bingo (with five special game prizes), all included in the cost of admission.
There will also be a 50/50 raffle, basket raffle with lots of unique prizes and a concession stand serving smoked pulled pork sandwiches and other treats.
Participants will also be able to purchase dabbers and extra bingo boards at the event.
Maison Allen, vice president/marketing manager, Raising the House, explained that they wanted to host a new fundraiser because it’s been a particularly busy year for Raising the House.
“This past year, we’ve received more requests for support than ever before from Palmerton families in desperate need of assistance,” Allen said. “We’re happy our services have been available to those in need, and we hope the community will help support our efforts by attending.”
Allen said all funds raised at the event will support the mission of the Raising the House organization to provide financial assistance to students and families within the Palmerton Area School District while honoring the memory of teacher Blaine House.
“It’s been a really cold winter, so we’re looking forward to the chance to bring our community together for a fun event that helps support our Palmerton families,” Allen said.
Tickets may be purchased at www.RaisingTheHouse.org. Tickets will also be sold at the door the day of the event.
The organization’s 12th annual 5K Run/Walk will be held May 9 at the Palmerton Community Park.
