State police at the Frackville barracks reported that a 49-year-old Brockton man is the victim of a theft by deception/identity theft incident.

Police said they were called at 3:43 p.m. Feb. 5 to Green Street, Schuylkill Township, where the man told them that someone opened a Verizon Wireless account in his name.

The company was contacted by the man and the account was closed before he suffered any financial loss, police said.
