Turnpike crashes

State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes that occurred on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• Barbara Anderson, 71, of Kunkletown, was cited after a two-vehicle crash at 2:50 p.m. Feb. 2 at mile marker 70.3 in Washington Township. She was uninjured in the incident.

Police said she was driving a 2014 Jeep Compass northbound and was passing a vehicle that was in the right traffic lane. They said the Compass traveled into the right lane and hit the side of the other vehicle.

After the impact, Anderson was able to pull the Compass onto the east shoulder of the road while the other vehicle continued northbound.

The Compass was towed from the scene.

• Tarikh K. Pigott, 25, of Bethlehem, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 8:41 a.m. Feb. 1 at mile marker 73.8 in East Penn Township.

Police said she was transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.

They said she was driving a 2022 Toyota Highlander southbound when it slid and struck the concrete barrier on the right side of the road before rolling over.

Pigott was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed, according to police.
