Thorpe FBLA raises money for projects

Members of the Jim Thorpe Future Business Leaders of America from the Jim Thorpe High School held a bake sale at the Jim Thorpe Market on Sunday.

“The money raised goes towards three projects,” explained Kayla Ann Kandy, President of the Jim Thorpe FBLA. “First, I’m holding an Alzheimer’s Walk on April 26 at the 903 Park, and money will go towards that.”

“My project is called Project Red, standing for ‘Remember Everyone Deployed,’” FBLA member Abby Hess said. “It’s to support deployed soldiers by writing letters and donating supplies for them.”

“The third project is called Feeding Pennsylvania, a statewide project of FBLA Pennsylvania,” Kandy added.

Future Business Leaders of America is the largest business career and technical student organization in the world. Each year, FBLA helps more than 200,000 middle school, high school, and college students prepare for careers in business.
