State police at Lehighton

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:

• Police said they are investigating a harassment report made to them at the barracks by a 14-year-old boy from Jim Thorpe.

The incident occurred at 3:51 p.m. Nov. 7 on a school bus on State Road in Parryville, police said.

• Police were called to a theft incident at 3:37 p.m. Dec. 30 on White Street, Bowmanstown.

A 70-year-old man from the borough reported that Christmas decoration was stolen from his front porch.

• A 36-year-old woman from Northampton was cited for retail theft (shoplifting) after police were called to the Walmart on Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East, Mahoning Township, at 3:31 p.m. Nov. 28.

Police said the store’s asset protection personnel detained the woman after she was caught her trying to steal merchandise valued at $171.72.

• A 48-year-old man from Palmerton was taken into custody on charges of failure to comply with Megan’s Law after he went to the state police barracks to update his information.

Police said he arrived at the barracks at 11:50 a.m. Feb. 2, after which they determined that he was noncompliant with the sex offender registration requirements because he did not update his information within the period allowed.
