E. Penn chairman rescinds resignation

John M. Strockoz has rescinded his resignation and remains chair of the board of supervisors in East Penn Township.

Supervisors did not discuss the issue Monday night, though ads for the supervisor vacancy had been placed in the Times News over the last few weeks.

Last week, the township office said it could not comment because the situation had not been addressed at a public meeting.

In other business, township roadmaster Brandon Bradford received praise for the road crew’s handling of the snow.

Township Manager Jillyan A. Sterling noted that the crew “received many compliments on the roads.”

The supervisors confirmed by vote that the township “declared a disaster emergency on Jan. 24, and it remained in effect for seven days.”

Resident Darin Dotter was unanimously elected to serve a one-year appointment on the Lehigh Canal Recreation Commission.

Strockoz said, “There are currently two openings on the recreation committee, one for the parks committee, and one for the zoning board.”

Interested parties should contact Sterling for more information.

East Penn will host an electronics recycling event on Wednesday, April 22, from 2- 5 p.m. or until the dumpster is full. According to the flyer, “If you can plug it in, we can recycle it.”
