Schuylkill County Court
The following sentences were handed down recently in Schuylkill County Court:
• Erick Thompson, 34, of Lebanon, Lebanon County, was sentenced by Judge Jacqueline Russell to 114 months to 20 years in state prison on a charge of rape filed by state police at Schuylkill Haven for an incident on Oct. 3, 2024.
Thompson is also responsible to pay the costs of prosecution plus $400.
• Gurney Ray Wolff III, 24, of Pottsville, was sentenced to 2-7 years in state prison by Judge James Goodman on a charge of driving under the influence filed by the Minersville police for an incident on May 28.
Wolff is also responsible to pay the costs of prosecution plus a $2,500 fine, $342.77 to the district attorney’s office for a blood draw, plus another $750.
• Jason Richard Kutney, 55, of White Haven, was sentenced by Judge William Burke to up to 6 months in Schuylkill County prison on a charge of driving under the influence-highest lodged by state police at Frackville for an incident on March 4, 2024.
Kutney must also pay the costs of prosecution plus a $1,000 fine and another $500.
• Valerie A. Clark, no birth date given, of Lebanon County, was sentenced by Judge William Burke to up to 12 months in Schuylkill County Prison on a charge of false identification to law enforcement authorities filed by Tamaqua police for an incident on June 13.
Clark is also responsible to pay the costs of prosecution plus $100.
• Stacy Salaki, 46, of Orwigsburg, was sentenced in two DUI-related cases stemming from separate traffic incidents in October 2023 and March 2024 in Schuylkill Haven Borough. In the first case, prosecutors reduced an initial charge of DUI involving a controlled substance as a third offense to a first-offense DUI, to which Salaki pleaded guilty on Dec. 4, 2025. She also pleaded guilty to driving while her license was suspended with a blood-alcohol level of 0.02 or greater. Other charges were withdrawn. She was sentenced to 90 days to five years of incarceration and later committed to SCI Muncy.
In the second case, Salaki faced multiple felony and misdemeanor DUI charges tied to repeat offenses. Several of the most serious counts, including fourth-offense DUIs, were amended or withdrawn. She pleaded guilty to felony DUI involving a combination of alcohol and a controlled substance as a second offense, along with driving while suspended with a 0.02 blood-alcohol level. Remaining charges were not pressed. She was sentenced to one to seven years in prison, plus an additional six to 12 months, with those sentences ordered to run consecutively to each other and to the sentence imposed in the earlier case.
• Iban Villanueva, 38, of Bethlehem, was sentenced Dec. 12 by Schuylkill County Judge Christina E. Hale to 27 months to 10 years in state prison on a felony DUI charge. The sentence was ordered to run consecutively to time he is already serving in a prior Lehigh County case. Villanueva also received concurrent sentences of probation for a drug possession charge and six to 12 months’ incarceration for driving with a suspended license related to alcohol, while numerous other DUI and drug-related charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement. Court records show Villanueva is currently housed at the Lehigh County Jail, and he was assessed $12,529.31 in fines and court costs.
• Christopher Scott Schoffstall, 39, of Pottsville, was ordered by Schuylkill County Judge James P. Goodman to serve a combined sentence for charges across two separate dockets, including six to 12 months for conspiracy to commit burglary and five to 12 months for receiving stolen property. The sentences stem from incidents in April 2025, which also led to a 60-day to six-month term for driving under the influence of a controlled substance and two years of probation for drug possession. In addition to his term of incarceration at SCI Camp Hill, Schoffstall was ordered to pay over $2,600 in fines, costs, and restitution, though the court granted him credit for over 220 days already served in confinement.
• Mohammed Saifullah Darr, 31, of Coaldale, was sentenced by Judge James P. Goodman after a guilty plea for charges of endangering welfare of children and DUI: controlled substance — metabolite. For the child endangerment charge, Darr was sentenced to 30 days to 12 months of confinement and received 81 days of credit for time served. For the DUI offense, he received a sentence of 6 months to 5 years of confinement, which the court ordered to run concurrently with his other sentence. Multiple other charges, including possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock, were dropped as part of the disposition. Beyond the period of confinement, Darr is responsible for a total financial balance of $6,468.54, which includes $1,500 in fines and various court-related costs and fees.
• Joshua Williams, 22, of Lancaster, was sentenced by Judge Christina Hale to up to 6 months in Schuylkill County prison on a charge of driving under the influence filed by state police at Frackville for an incident on Sept. 28, 2024.
Williams is also responsible to pay the costs of prosecution, plus $475.
• Edward Martinez, 20, of Pottsville, was sentenced by Judge James Goodman to6-24 months in Schuylkill County prison on a charge of robbery made by Minersville police for an incident on Aug. 12, 2024.
Martinez is also responsible to pay the costs of prosecution, $6,925 in restitution, plus $450.
• Diane Kehler, 56, of Ashland, was sentenced by Judge James Goodman to 20-84 months on a charge of driving under the influence made by state police at Frackville for an incident on March 17, 2024.
Kehler is also responsible to pay the costs of prosecution, a $2,500 fine, plus $800.
