Supervisors hear police, fire reports in Lehigh Township

Lehigh Township supervisors heard from emergency personnel about cases earlier this month.

Police Chief John Henry reported 5,410 calls for 2025, 137 reportable accidents, 83 non-reportable, 311 traffic citations, and 180 written warnings.

“I would like to thank everyone involved with the rescue at West Walker Drive on Sunday,” Henry said. “I have spoken to the woman and she is doing fine. She told me she had 12 doctors working on her while at the hospital.

He also reported that there were 20 new applications for a new officer position, which will close on Feb. 3.

“I would like to open the detective exam on Feb. 21,” Henry said. “I would like to consider Sergeant Philip Mirabile for that position.”

The board approved.

Fire Commissioner Richard Hilebrand reported there were 542 calls for 2025: 60 were overlapping, 88 for mutual aid, and 56 mutual aid received.

“Final inspection on the new truck, 2026 rear mount aerial, will be Jan. 27,” Hildebrand said. “The truck will then go to Campbell for a quality check for 30 days. Training for the truck will take six months.”

The next fundraiser for Lehigh Township Fire Company will be a flower sale on Feb. 12, 13 and 14 at the fire station, 4188 Lehigh Drive, Cherryville.
