Thirty-four people boarded a bus in Lehighton on Tuesday to head to Washington, D.C., to attend the inauguration of Barrack Obama as president of the United States.
Linda Christman of Towamensing Township organized the trip, having obtained metro passes for the day and securing five tickets to the viewing area through Congressman Paul Kanjorski’s office.
The entourage members, who played a key role in Obama’s highly-successful election results in Carbon County, reported masses of people at the inauguration braved cold temperatures and stood side-by-side around the inauguration site in one of the largest attended events in D.C. ever.
