The Lehighton boys and girls basketball teams earned a sweep of Palmerton Wednesday, while Panther Valley’s boys and girls wrestling squads each posted wins over Tamaqua.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Lehighton–Palmerton

Cole Dietz drilled eight three-pointers on his way to a game-high 30 points as Lehighton rolled to a 62-25 Colonial League victory over Palmerton.

Blake Roberts added 12 points, and Talin Fairchild chipped in 11 for Lehighton, which snapped a three-game losing streak.

Tate Buck scored eight points for Palmerton, which dropped its eighth straight game.

Tiheed Wise Jr. scored 12 of his game-high 23 points in the third quarter to lead Allen to a 71-33 rout of Pleasant Valley.

The Canaries outscored the Bears 16-9 in the third quarter to take a commanding 55-23 lead entering the fourth. Sebastian Sacci paced Pleasant Valley with 18 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Lehighton–Palmerton

Lehighton returned to the win column with a commanding 55-28 Colonial League victory over Palmerton.

A game after dropping its first loss of the season by two points, the Indians didn’t need overtime this time around. Lehighton jumped out early and shut down the Bombers offensively, building a 37-11 halftime lead.

Leah Uyvari scored eight of her game-high 12 points in the second quarter, when the Indians put up 22 points.

Ryleigh Trotman added 11 points, and Olivia Serfass finished with nine.

Cate Morgan led Palmerton with eight points, while Alisyn Green added seven.

Jillian Remes (100), Savanna Chisolm (136), Adrianna Cabrera (142), Ashley Williams (148), Bailey Snyder (155), Anelia Bennick (170), Alisa Williams (190) and Brenda Banks (235) all earned forfeits for the Panthers.

Addison Trunk (112), Kiely Kunkel (118) and Kaitlyn Rivera (124) recorded consecutive falls for Tamaqua, while Jalissa Correa (130) was awarded a forfeit.

The Blue Raiders edged the Panthers 4-3 in contested bouts, but three forfeits proved decisive for the visitors.

Cameron Rolon (160) and Carlos Maldonado-Rosa (215) both recorded pins for Panther Valley.

Rylan Reitz (127), Brody Schlier (145), Troy Hartman (172) and William Behun (285) all posted falls for Tamaqua.

Weatherly posted a 36-32 win. Silas Zink scored a game-high 17 points, and MJ Ryan added nine. Noah Seifert led Panther Valley with 11 points, while Keion Wheeler scored seven.

Weatherly cruised to a 37-10 victory. Sophia Durham finished with a game-high 11 points, and Riley Bachert added eight. Lucy Uher led Panther Valley with seven points.
