The most ambitious expansion project in the history of the Times News is underway.

A facility that will consolidate all of the departments of the newspaper and printing operations at that site is being constructed along Route 443 in Mahoning Township.

Fred L. Masenheimer, publisher, said ground was broken for the facility last September and occupancy is expected by May or June of this year.

Scott Masenheimer, general manager of the newspaper, said a new press is being installed at the building, where the Times News and its six Allentown area weekly newspapers will be published in a state-of-the-art fashion.
