January 20, 1950 — A strong second half allows Summit Hill to pull out a 49-43 Black Diamond League victory over host Tamaqua. Bill Risavy pours in a game-high 28 points for the winners, who trail by two at the break but outscore the Blue Raiders by a 27-19 count over the final two quarters. The Hillers, coached by Francis “Turk” Gerber, also received 11 points from Eddie Conahan. Risavy adds a strong effort on defense, guarding high-scoring Charley Baer and holding him to 11 points. Tamaqua’s Ken Shilko finishes with a team-high 19 points.
