Shay to lead Ross Township supervisors

Dave Shay was named as chairman of the Ross Township supervisors when the board reorganized earlier this month.

Shay had replaced James Zaharoiko, who retired in December 2025.

Greg Gillman, newly elected, was also unanimously voted as vice chairman. Randy Detrick will round out the board.

Shay said to Greg Gill, “I’m very grateful that somebody stood up, and I think it’s great. So I appreciate you wanting to be involved. We’re looking for people to be involved.”

The supervisors wore matching shirts with the Ross Township logo.

Shay said, “Greg is the one who had the idea that we should wear our matching shirts.

So I think it’s a good touch.”

Gill said, “It’s just about unity, if we’re not together here, we can’t be together out there, so it shows that we work together.”

Gill added, “I was just about to say thanks to the residents as well.”

After the meeting Gill shared his thoughts about being the vice chairman. “I think it’s a new year and changes are going on that I think will be positive for the township and it’s full steam ahead from here.”
