Children and Youth honors staff member
A Carbon County Children and Youth staff member was recently named Employee of the Year for her work with staff and families in 2025.
Director Jill Geissinger recently announced the award recipient as Rhianna Delich, county casework supervisor.
Delich started at Children and Youth in June 2020 as a County Caseworker I.
“She immediately showed empathy for the families in Carbon County and worked to help investigate child abuse, helped families to sustain housing, find treatment and referred families to many of Carbon’s resources to keep children safe,” Geissinger said. “This energy and hard work earned her a promotion to County Caseworker II in August of 2021.
“Rhianna continues to build upon her already existing Carbon County roots to ensure children have what they need. Rhianna is always going above and beyond including sleeping overnight at the office with children who are awaiting placement, standing and speaking up for families that need help, accompanying colleagues to assist in difficult discussions with families, assisting staff work to solve challenging gaps in services, giving countless extra hours to work at community events like National Night Out, community meet and greets and accepting/requesting donations from local churches, organizations and clubs.”
She was promoted to her current position in January 2024. In this role, Delich supervises five caseworker staff, each managing 20 to 30 families’ cases.
Her colleagues have described her as helpful and supportive; and as a person who puts in a little extra effort to help others, sets a positive example for the workplace, works to encourage the employees, and is always willing to go above and beyond what is expected of her.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from DeSales University; and also minored in criminal justice. She is currently working on getting her Leadership Academy training from the University of Pittsburgh.
“Carbon County Children and Youth is lucky to have such a dedicated and committed staff member who genuinely cares about her community,” Geissinger said. “As caseworkers with social worker hearts, we can’t always make the world better, but we can make a difference by showing up when we are called to do so. That is who Rhianna Delich is and quite worthy of the title Carbon County Children and Youth Employee of the Year.”
