Fair hopes to move by 2027
The Carbon County Fair hopes by next year it can host its annual event at its new location just down the road from its current site.
Malinda Fox, president of the fair, said they are fundraising for the new fairgrounds on property adjacent to 2985 Little Gap Road in Palmerton.
“For many years, we’ve been incredibly grateful to lease our space from Blue Mountain,” Fox said. “Now, we have the exciting opportunity to establish our very own permanent fairgrounds — something we’ve dreamed of for a long time.”
Fox added the move will result in a permanent home, with the ability to host events all year long.
She said there will be more space for vendors, rides, food, entertainment, and more.
Fox said the fair will still take place the same week as it always has, noting that tradition matters.
“We are beyond excited for what this means for our fair and our community, and we can’t wait to grow with you,” she said. “Thank you for supporting the future of the Carbon County Fair.”
Fox said in 2012, the Carbon County Fair purchased the property adjacent to 2985 Little Gap Rd. “with the hopes of having a forever home.
“It has taken many years but, we have finally breached our largest hurdle meeting the requirements set forth by EPA,” Fox said. “We are now hopeful that as our engineer leads us through the permits process of the local township we may be in our permanent home as soon as 2027.
“We look forward to growing as a fair to accommodate, more vendors, rides and attractions on this sprawling 41 acre grounds. Carbon County Fair will be counting on the continued support of our local community to help along with community driven fundraising to help support the development of our new fairgrounds.”
