Fire companies from West Penn Township and New Ringgold as well as the Tamaqua Rescue Squad were dispatched Saturday evening to a motor vehicle crash in West Penn Township.

The crash occurred just after 5 p.m. at the intersection of Routes 309 and 443 in South Tamaqua involving multiple vehicles. At least one victim had to be freed from their vehicle.

West Penn Township police are investigating the incident. Firefighters shut down Dairy Road at the scene.
