A Lansford couple had the first baby of the New Year at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton early Thursday morning.
Heather Dietz and Zachary Jones welcomed Jasper Thorn Jones into the world at 3:38 a.m. He weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces, and measured 22 inches long.
The couple received numerous baby gifts for their son provided by one of the hospital’s nurses, a hospital spokeswoman said.
A Tamaqua couple, Skye and Jesse Fotusky, welcomed a New Year’s baby at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill a few hours later.
Wren Ann Fotusky was born at 8:34 a.m., weighing 6 pounds, 6 ounces, and measuring 20 inches long.
A Zionsville couple, Carissa Cornell and Victor Caraballo-Bourdier, had the first baby born in the Lehigh Valley Hospital Network system.
Their daughter, Isabella Mia Bourdier-Cornell, was born at 12:11 a.m. at LVH-Cedar Crest, weighing 7 pounds, 10 ounces, and measuring 21 inches long.
