A 3-acre tract of land on the Ridge Cup section of West Penn Township will be purchased by the township supervisors.

The land, which will be purchased from Oscar and Verna Steigerwalt of New Ringgold R.1, will be used for a municipal building and garage.

The agreement to make the purchase was signed during the supervisors’ reorganizational meeting.

The property is located about two-tenths of a mile east of Route 309 on Township Route 777.

The Steigerwalts will be paid a minimum of $3,000 after it is surveyed by Victor Geiger, Lehighton R.4, with the sales price to be adjusted based on a price of $1,000 per acre, according to Chairman Curtis Houser.
