Emergency personnel from several communities were dispatched late Tuesday afternoon for a rescue in West Penn Township. The West Penn and New Ringgold fire companies along with Tamaqua Rescue and the Penn Mahoning ambulance were called to a home on Hemlock Drive in Valley Park Estates for a homeowner who apparently drove his vehicle off the driveway and down a steep embankment. Firefighters were able to pull the victim to safety without injury.
