Monroe County commissioners
The Monroe County commissioners approved the following items during their meeting on Dec. 17:
• Children and Youth — Submit Act 148 fourth quarter 2024-2025 Report with total expenditures of $19,269,386.
• Request from Safe Monroe to use Courthouse Square at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 14 for its annual Red Sand Project to recognize victims of human trafficking.
• Proposal from the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania for tax collector bonds for the period 2026 to 2030, total of $263,136 for county, municipality and school district tax collection.
• Opioid grant from the Opioid Settlement Funds to Path to Peace, $650 for an event at Pocono Cinema with Recovery City screening.
• Security agreement with Securitas effective Jan. 1, at a rate of $33.87 per hour for armed security.
• Agreement with CGI Digital for county video program at no cost to the county.
• The 2026 Tax Bill dates for county/township, interim run B, school bills and interim run A (2027) as listed on memo dated Dec. 5, 2025.
• Advertise — Rebid for well drilling, 2026 parking deck repairs, and 2026 Community Development Block Grant request for proposal for Pike County.
• Controller — Appoint Jason R. Costanzo. as solicitor effective Jan. 1, at the rate of $6,350 for the year.
• Monroe County Correctional Facility — Contract extension with Aramark Correctional Services LLC for food services at a rate increase of 3.9% from Jan. 6, 2026 to Jan. 5, 2027.
• Domestic Relations: Universal Membership agreement with Equifax Verification Services for employment verification effective Jan. 1, at a rate of $125 setup fee, $20 per month account servicing fee and $4.99 per month per customer ID.
• Fiscal/Grants: Submit the Fiscal Year 2026 Mosquito-borne Disease Control Grant for the period of Jan. 1, 2026, to Dec. 31, 2026, for $141,676.
• Housing Authority: Reappoint Linda Keefer to the board, new term to expire Oct. 27, 2030; appoint Ann Gallagher-Aronson to the board, term to expire Oct. 27, 2030.
• Information Technology and Services: Master Services Agreement with Paperless Solutions Inc. for comprehensive case management, document management, court management, e-filing document filing with statement of work. Initial cost of $407,100 for Civil/Family court and $296,100 for Orphan’s Court from Jan. 1, 2026, to Dec. 31, 2030; and approved amendment No. 2 with Thompson Reuters through Aug. 14, 2026, for AdGators Maintenance and support for $1,098.69.
• Pleasant Valley Manor — Appoint to the PVM board of trustees for the 2026 calendar year: Sharon S. Laverdure, John D. Christy, David C. Parker, Dr. Peter Casale and Robert A. Shebelsky.
