The Northwestern girls basketball team secured its eighth consecutive victory with another dominant performance on Tuesday, while the wrestling team remained unbeaten with a win over Palmerton

Northwestern Lehigh won 9 of 13 bouts — seven by fall — to earn a convincing 54-21 Colonial League victory over Palmerton.

The Tigers recorded pins from Logan Heeps (107), Weston Killar (127), Trent Croll (145), Nolan Koehler (172), Vinnie Fugazzotto (189), Luke Fugazzotto (215) and Ian Zettlemoyer (285).

Northwestern also picked up two forfeits at 152 and 160 pounds.

Palmerton’s wins came via pins from Colton Becker (121), Connor Messinger (133) and Jaxs Miller (139), along with a decision from Thomas Pasquariello (114).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Northwestern–Pottsville

Northwestern rolled to a 54-35 non-conference victory over Pottsville.

Natalie Conner scored 21 of her game-high 29 points in the first half as the Tigers built a commanding 33-11 halftime lead. Northwestern maintained control throughout, outscoring the Tide in each of the first three quarters.

Olivia Reinhart added seven points for the Tigers.

Lauren Brennan was the lone Pottsville player in double figures, finishing with a team-high 12 points.
