Winter weather advisory issued for snow, sleet

A winter weather advisory is in effect for today, with mixed precipitation in the forecast.

Total snow accumulations between 1 and 4 inches are possible and a light glaze of ice.

The advisory is in place until 4 p.m. today.

Today: Snow, freezing rain, and sleet before 1 p.m., then a slight chance of rain and snow between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. High near 37. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 31. West wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 40. Breezy, with a northwest wind 15 to 20 mph decreasing to 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. Calm wind.

Christmas Day: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 20.

Friday: Snow, mainly after 1 p.m. High near 30. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Friday Night: Snow before 1 a.m., then snow and freezing rain likely. Low around 20. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
