Thanks to the committed effort of the Tamaqua Borough Recreation Committee, Tamaqua Borough Council approved the start of the pool project. The new pool will replace the existing pool with the addition of new water features.
The pool will be “T” shaped in design and meet all ADA compliance guidelines.
The feasibility study was completed by Aquatic Facility Design and submitted to the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources for review and approval.
Multi Scape Inc. will be acting as the general contractor, with Vincent Pools being the subcontractor on site. Funding for the pool comes from the J.E. Morgan Fund in the amount of $1.65 million and federal funds, acquired through a federal grant, will be in the amount of $1.75 million.
The borough will be paying the difference.
The total cost of the pool is $3.66 million.
Start date of the pool project is spring 2026, with a completion date of October of 2027.
Mary Linkevich, along with the Tamaqua Borough Recreation Committee, were instrumental in seeing this project into fruition.
