Walnutport Borough Council also took the following action last week:

• Approved a .50 cent an hour raise for the borough’s two part-time public works employees, which will raise their salary to $17 an hour, effective immediately.

• Approved street work in the amount of $15,400.

• Approved landscaping work at the recreation facility at 215 Lincoln Ave. in the amount of $1,640.

• Granted permission to the Northern Lehigh Recreation to use the pavilion in the event they would need it this year, and will coordinate with the borough secretary next year if they need it for their summer recreation program

• Approved a request from the Walnutport Playground Association to hold fireworks July 13, with a rain date of July 14.
