Friends of Lansford Recreation and Lansford Alive will host the annual Christmas tree lighting and arrival of Santa Claus on Sunday in Kennedy Park along Patterson Street.
The celebration begins at 2 p.m. with music and hot chocolate and sweets available from Delacruz Delites, before the arrival of Santa.
Santa will greet children and be available for photos from 3-4 p.m.
Dave Matsinko will introduce the Panther Valley High School Band for the national anthem ahead of a welcome from Gwyneth Collevechio from the Friends group around 4 p.m.
The Panther Valley Ensemble will perform festive holiday songs, and Debby Kunkle will read “Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
The Panther Valley Fourth Grade Chorus will perform, and Yvonne Stoffey will read the list of trees purchased and decorated this year. More than 50 holiday trees will fill the park this year.
Joe Krushinsky will perform holiday songs, and Lansford Alive and Friends of Recreation will have closing remarks before the finale — the tree lighting planned for around 5 p.m.
The trees will remain lit throughout the holiday season and into the New Year.
