Northern Lehigh graduate Trevor Amorim had two touchdown catches Saturday to help Kutztown University roll to a 56-19 victory over Assumption in the second round of the NCAA Division 2 playoffs.
Amorim, a senior for the Golden Bears, snared a 9-yard TD toss from quarterback Judd Novak in the second quarter to help extend Kutztown’s lead to 28-3. The former Bulldog also hauled in a 16-yard scoring strike from Novak in the fourth frame to push his team’s advantage to a commanding 49-12.
The Kutztown receiver caught three passes for 30 yards, and also ran the ball once for another nine yards.
The victory lifts the undefeated Golden Bears (13-0) into the quarterfinal round of the D-2 playoffs where they will host Frostburg State on Saturday.
