Schuylkill County traffic incidents

A Schuylkill County driver is facing charges following incidents on Saturday.

State police at Frackville said Yorkira Cruz, 19, of Shenandoah, was driving a 2014 Toyota RAV 4 westbound on West Lloyd Street in Shenandoah at 5:19 p.m. when her vehicle struck a parked 2010 Ford Escape. After impact, Cruz fled the scene. She was later located by troopers after her vehicle struck several more parked vehicles.

A hit-and-run crash report was completed for every vehicle struck with a charge of accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle or property filed for each struck vehicle, troopers said.

A Lancaster County driver escaped injury when his vehicle struck a deer along Interstate 81 in Ryan Township, Schuylkill County on Friday.

State police at Frackville said John J. Schutz, 50, of Elizabethtown, was driving a 2018 Volkswagen Golf northbound at 6:14 p.m. when the deer entered the road in front of him.

He was unable to avoid the animal and struck and killed it. The left corner of the vehicle was damaged.
