During a special meeting of the Carbon County Board of Public Assistance yesterday, John Sharbaugh of Lansford was promoted to the position of income maintenance supervisor.

Sharbaugh, 33, formerly was an income maintenance worker.

The new supervisor first worked as a caseworker for the county board, beginning in 1971, and was later transferred to income maintenance worker.

He was previously employed as a caseworker in Northampton County, a position which involved both income maintenance and social services duties.

Sharbaugh is a graduate of Bloomsburg State College, where he received a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
