A 45-year-old Schuylkill Haven woman is facing felony charges after police said she threw trash bags containing 10 dogs, nine of which are deceased, in a dumpster in Schuylkill County.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said Sylwia Zaploska is facing 10 counts each of aggravated cruelty to animals, cruelty to animals and neglecting animals’ veterinary care, all felonies.

In addition, she received 10 summary citations each for transporting animals in a cruel manner and abandoning a dog.

Police said the arrests came after they were called to a report of trash bags being thrown in a dumpster at 215 N. Route 183 in Wayne Township, western Schuylkill County, and found the bags contained the dogs.
