Slatington Borough Council gave approval to Caring DAM Hearts CEO Denise Martinez to use the Vigilant Fire Company bottom floor for her shop. Martinez said, “Our landlord has changed and doubled our rent. We cannot afford that. I’m requesting the use of Vigilant Fire Company for our free clothes and other items for the homeless, veterans, and the less fortunate in our area.” The building will be temporary until the organization finds a permanent home.
